Sumi Guesthouse Haeundae

It's a nice and simple hostel, there is no front desk but checking in was still not difficult. We got clean towels shampoos and stuff every day. We always like our garbage taken away daily and they did so happy us. I read there would be dogs here but I did not see any.

I can imagen staying in the common room isn't the most relaxing due to the camera's pointing at you. The neighbourhood itself is nice, close to the beach and some sightseeing spots but if you want to go to the city centre, it will take you at least a half an hour.

Nothing.

It was disgusting, they did not clean our room. We checked in at 4pm. We found human finger nail on the floor, wet tissue paper was on the sit of the toilet. It was disgusting, dusty, and room was so cold but heater was not working at all. I had to pay 40000 won which they charged 5000 more than what i saw it online. IN CASH. I

I arrived very late and forgot to let the staff know ahead of time even though they specifically say check-in is between 4-9 only. I had planned to arrive in that time however i was seriously delayed. I contacted the guesthouse after 9 pm by email to know my troubles. My fear was that i would not be able to use the guesthouse, that i would need to book at another place, but that i would still be charged here for my mistake. HOWEVER, this place made great efforts to assist me and i am so grateful. They messaged me about how to enter the guesthouse w/o the staff being there and how i could pay w/o anyone being there to check me in. I cannot express enough how helpful and courteous this place was for my situation. The layout of the location is neat for a guesthouse. There is a nice shared space, public fridge, and kitchen, office area, etc... if you are staying in the Haeundae area for a while, this seems like a nice, quieter type guesthouse. (some can be quite rowdy, you know) My room was very clean. Good amenities were provided and the bathroom was nice. The bed was firm but spacious and the pillows weren't the cheap kind that i hate so much. The wifi is also good. There were a limited number of outlets in my room but it was okay for me. Overall, its annoying that Haeundae is so expensive to stay in. You can get some pretty amazing rooms for only a little more money but if you need access to a kitchen and dont want to be bothered by lots of people- this guesthouse is ideal.

The place may be hard for some to find if you cant read Hangul (korean). I did not have a problem locating the smallish sign from the street but i was also using my GPS locator while walking. My room was FREEZING cold - so much so that i could not take off my clothes to go to bed. I could not find the way to turn the heat on in the room either ... though, later on, i realized my bed had a heating blanket!! After i turned it on, i slept well toasting all night in my jammies.

It has everything you need for a really good price. We loved the dogs and the big kitchen which made it seem like home from home.

We got off on a shaky start when we didn’t understand how the entry system worked. And got very upset at not being able to get in late at night when we arrived home. It was simply that the key fob was only for inside. The manager was just a little hasty in telling us the basics as he was very busy. Once that was sorted we were happy and extended our stay.

Amazing host and had a very nice and relaxed stay here. The dogs are also very very lovely :-). The location is amazing with the cheap direct airport bus right in front of the place.

Very clean, everything seemed pretty new. Spacious room. Located not far from the metro station and also close to the beach (10min walk for each). Supermarket, convenience stores and bakeries nearby.

Even though there is a kitchen, you are not allowed to use it (only microwave and kettle). You are not allowed to make instant noodles, though. There are two dogs in a small cage in the common area, 99% of the day. During the day, there is usually no staff present, but you can call or text them anytime.

I was surprised when finding this guest house is just perfect. A great place to stay when you are traveling to Busan. Cheap, clean, near the Haeundae beach and other leisure places.

The place is just a bit hard to find for foreigner without asking local people. Haha. But when you are in, things become awesome!

the location is very nice. It’s near the traditional market and haeundae beach. But the room is too small. Although the host said please be quiet after 10 but it’s still noisy

The first night we found an earwig on the pillow.... The second night, when we came back at the guesthouse, we found the door of our room wide open (I think they forgot to close it ofter cleaning the room). During a couple of nights, it was quite hard to sleep because of people loudly talking and hanging in the common kitchen.

The common area was nice and clean. The price was very cheap and the beach is close. There are also many restaurants around the guest house.

The condition of the room was quite shabby. I'd say the pictures in booking.com have been taken in the way that makes it look much better than it actually is. I arrived when I had noticed but my room wasn't ready since the owner was on a vacation they said. And since there's no reception desk or anything like that, they should have better instructions online about check in etc. As an area, Haeundae is a bit far from the tourist attractions.
